Julia and Joe traveled from Denver, Colorado, to celebrate their elopement in the cozy backyard of their close friends just outside of Guttenberg, in Garber, Iowa. And honestly? I love small elopements like this.
Elopements let couples slow down, keep it simple, and truly soak in the day without the rush. Including us as photographers, there were only nine people , making everyone feel like they part of something truly special.
Julia and Joe took their time getting ready and enjoyed each moment of their intimate Iowa elopement. From quiet moments in the morning to gathering around a fire with their people that evening, the whole day was simple and chill. We wrapped up the celebration with a champagne spray that turned into a dragon fire finish—yes, it was just as epic as it sounds!
It was the perfect reminder that your elopement doesn’t have to be big to be unforgettable. Whether you’re planning a backyard elopement in Iowa or heading somewhere new, it’s all about slowing down, being with your people, and celebrating your love in a way that feels true to you!
