Featuring Resurrection Church, the Dubuque Arboretum, and Riverfront Views
Wedding days are equal part stress and excitement. Seeing Alex that morning he was ready for the day to begin. Stazia, his bride, was full of excitement seeing the dress hanging, the jewelry set out and her shoes waiting to be worn. From the heartwarming ceremony at Resurrection Church to the scenic area of the Grand River Center, every moment felt fresh, fun and truly meaningful. As a Dubuque wedding photographer I love days that I can work at the Grand River and capture authentic laughs, real connections with a stunning backdrop.
A Sentimental Start at Resurrection Church
The ceremony to place at Resurrection Church in Dubuque, Iowa a beautiful and peaceful place that match the couples warmth and connection. Surrounded by family and close friends Alex and Stazia exchanged vows with sincerity and a few sweet tears. There was a quiet reverence to the way they looked at each other, no nerves, just love. It set the tone for the rest of the wedding day.
Wedding Party Fun at the Dubuque Arboretum
After the ceremony, we traveled to the Dubuque Arboretum and this crew was ready for anything. The wedding party brought so much energy and laughter, it didn’t take much prompting to get them involved. One of the moments I loved the most is when the wedding party lifted Alex and Stazia above the group for an epic overhead photo. No complaints, no hesitation just a crew of friends celebrating their favorite couple in the best way ever.
Grand River Center: A Reception with a View
The reception was at the Grand River Center and it has everything you would want in a riverfront wedding reception. But what I love the most is the balcony off the River Room. It has panoramic views overlooking the Mississippi River. The balcony became an area all their own as the sun dipped behind the horizon. We snuck out just as view shifted to deep blues and the soft glow of dusk reflected off the water. That when Stazia kicked off her shoes with a sign of relief and said she could stay out there all night, This was a magical spot and quite honestly I could have stayed all night also, I was loving what I was photographing. It was one of those simple, beautiful moments, a bride, barefoot on a balcony reveling in her day.
Real Moments, True Connection
Throughout the day it was clear how much Stazia cares for her people, especially her daughter. Throughout the day she made sure her little girl felt special, loved and included. It was one of the quiet truths that doesn’t always show in photos but means everything. Alex and Staiza’s wedding wasn’t about grand gestures although the views were incredible. It was about connection, comfort and celebration in a way that felt true to them.
Wedding at the Grand River Center have a special kind of energy, from the light off the Mississippi, the elegance of the River Room and that incredible balcony. For couple like Alex and Stazia, it is the perfect setting to celebrate their love that is as relaxed as it is radiant. If you are planning a Dubuque wedding and looking for a venue with the unforgettable view and mix of elegance and ease, the Grand River Center is a place you will love.
